[POEM] woven escape

woven escape

in my dream the spider was dangling
five legs caught, the others frozen
captured in that last breathe of struggle
i fixated on the web, her own creation
and final destruction
while i stood naked in the shower
stared at her yellow and red belly
curious how the fly managed to escape
her saliva, silk woven in a sticky entrapment
that would ultimately kill me
