[POEM] hide and seek

hide_and_seek

the kids chase each other in the woods
through slumbering rhododendrons
feet jumping over icy patches
snow crunch with each step

they grew up together in these woods
among the laughter echoing from pines and aspens
fallen birch trees giving obstacle to the path
when they stop running there’s only silence

but they don’t stop for long
they know if they just keep running
and playing games in the woods
there will never be silence

Happy winter solstice friends and lovers!
I love you keep going,
~g~
