[POEM] settling in

snapseed

settling in

“When we begin to understand that all things
are impermanent, then our grasping
lessens.”
~ Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse

he taught me about impermanence
we lived it on and off
on borrowed time, or stolen
definitely not permitted

so when i met you
i already knew the ending
that should have helped
turns out it didn’t

now i sit with the uncomfortable
weight of transient love
we talk, i listen, i open myself
allow it to settle in my life
