[POEM] pause



for self reflection / for remembering you / to listen to the woodpecker / and the return of Spring / lawn mover in the distance / a plane overhead / for a deep breath in and exhale / to not be doing / to watch ants / listen to crows / to think about running / but not to stress about the upcoming race / to stop looking at finish times and wonder how I’ll compete / just stop / the brain chatter and noise /
